Modem Madness

I wanted to put a modem on the BBS but I ran into an unforeseen difficulty -- I don't have a spare electrical outlet anywhere in the vicinity, nor do I have any spare extensions or adaptors. Luckily a good bit of rummaging turned up a 14.4K SupraExpress which gets its power from the ADB port. Very handy indeed. If anyone wants to dial in the number is 780 374 3595 (if you're overseas, you'll have to look up the prefix for Canada... it's 00+1 in most places, I believe).
Since the line is also my home phone, the modem is set to answer after six rings to give me a chance to intercept calls from humans.

Another retro-ish project for today was making a mixed tape for a friend's 40th birthday... it's probably been ten years since I used a cassette for anything, and I'd forgotten how much slower it is than burning a disc in iTunes -- I'd say it took about 4 hours to make a 90 minute cassette!

I may be MIA for the next couple of days as I'm going to be in the studio recording an album with Canadian punk legends Benalto... if all goes according to plan, the result should be the musical equivalent of salmonella poisoning.
