Baby steps...
After skipping a day on Friday, I thought I'd better get it in gear today. It seemed like it should be a quick job to finish off the sequencer/mixer for the music project, but I hadn't taken my own stupidity into account... suffice it to say that when one uses Zero Page addressing when one intends to use Immediate addressing, the results can be rather disastrous.
Fortunately it only took most of the day to figure out my mistake and I was finally able to get it working more-or-less as intended. Here's an mp3 of the thing in action (about 631Kb).
Bear in mind that this isn't intended to be music (although some would argue it's one of my better pieces). What we have here is a sequence of all 256 possible combinations of 16 unique samples. Discerning listeners may notice the bloody awful clicking which follows each sample and the brain-bending whine of the ~11KHz carrier... I'm not sure that anything can be done to minimize these effects, so they might just end up being part of the overall sound.
