MTV

So it turns out my assumptions regarding DOS 3.3 were completely wrong and the whole album-on-a-floppy project is going to require a radical rethinking. I still hope to complete it by month's end, but it will require a fair bit of luck (as I have no skill to speak of).

In the meantime, I thought I'd show Dale and Oliver how a quality video is made... not!
A few days ago Lorance (of Retro BBS fame) put together a web page that keeps track of updates on the various RetroChallengers' blogs. A very cool feature is that the information can be displayed in either a standard html table or as preformatted text (which makes it a lot easier to view in text-only browsers such as Lynx). Being a curious fellow as well as a conscientious content developer, Lorance was asking how the page rendered in Contiki. I thought making a video would be a good way to show him and a fine opportunity to make it look like I'm actually doing something...

The video was shot on my daughter's $20 Chinese camera. The computer is an Apple IIgs running at 1 MHz (forgot to switch it back to "fast" mode). The music, incidentally, is an excerpt from my second Apple II composition.

See you at Cannes!
