Creature Feature
Too hot today and too burnt-out from work to do anything useful, so I spent some quality time with my 7-year-old daughter, Astrid. After all the tickling, giggling and tom-foolery that I could handle, we settled down with a massive bowl of popcorn and The Creature From The Black Lagoon.
Now, I have pretty mixed feelings about a lot of the so-called classic b-movies, but I have to say this one's a winner. Of course it's loaded down with the usual gender stereotypes typical of that era and a good deal of dicey acting and dialog to boot, but it more than makes up for that with some uncharactersitically good cinematography as well as a really good score. On the B-movie scale, I'd give it 9 out of 10... on a general scale maybe 7.5.
