Something old is something new

Back in January of this year, whilst working on the Serial Dub EP as part of the Old Computer Challenge I put considerable effort into improving my TimeLord sequencer program. Oddly enough, I never got round to releasing the new and improved version, so I thought I'd damned well better get on it.

Aside from a few (ie: not enough) bug fixes, TimeLord 2.1 now features pattern editors that can actually be used by humans. Whereas the previous version employed strings of letters to represent various combinations of samples, 2.1 uses a timeline grid with simple cursor movements and note on/off toggling which is about 65536 times more intuitive. As an added bonus, the editor now features a preview function to take some of the guesswork out of it.

As if that weren't enough, 2.1 also includes built-in synchronized starting for NadaNet connected Apple IIs, which makes multitracking with TimeLord a whole lot easier.

TimeLord 2.1 can be found here.
