Put in some serious brainwork trying to figure out an elaborate sequence editor and control program for the Drumulator before realizing that I was *really* ahead of myself. I've now come to my senses and revised my goals accordingly. The plan, for what remains of the weekend, is to build a cable to interface the Apple II with the Drumulator and then [hopefully] communicate with it via standard comms software. I'm reasonably sure that I *should* be able to use ProTerm on the Apple IIe to send sequences to the Drumulator. If that works, the next step is to construct a "proof-of-concept" sequencer in Applesoft before wading in to the assembly version.
My big plan for next week is to load Virtual ][ (Apple II emulator) on my almost-retro iBook, so I can fiddle with RT.Synth voices in the down-time at work. I'll use Sound Studio on the Mac to generate the basic sounds and then transfer them directly to the emulator... should save a lot of time, and maybe I'll actually have some results by month's end.
