NOBEL PRIZE (ECONOMICS) 2011
The Nobel prize in Economic Sciences 2011
was awarded jointly to
Thomas J. Sargent (New York University, New York, NY, USA),
and Christopher A. Sims (Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, USA)
"for their empirical research on cause and effect in the macroeconomy".
Selection of the Economics Prize is conducted in the month of October, with the annoucement made no later than 15 November, in any given year.
