Although summer is traditionally G&S downtime, we have not been completely idle. On July 20th, a Bar-b-que, ably co-ordinated by Michele Gaudet, with aid from Grand Chef Darrel O'Neil and some others, raised just over $300 for our coffers.
On July 27th, a summer party was hosted by Bernie Wallworth. Thanks Bernie.
A number of donations have been made recently. Susan Woodbury has kindly donated a sewing machine which should be of great use to future costumers. Thanks, Sue. Also, Mrs. Ross has donated a number of LP records of G&S productions as well as some collector's edition D'Oyly Carte programmes for our library. These can be seen, along with any other library materials, by contacting Darrel O'Neil (835-5650).
- Editor in search of authors - Anyone intersted in putting pen to paper and submitting an article or two to the Katisha Scream, please get in touch with Darrel O'Neil.
The first meeting of the year will be on Tuesday, September 3rd @ 7:30PM in St. John's United Church Hall. This will be a non-rehearsal meeting and a good chance for everyone to register, socialize, do some impromptu singing and get our 20th anniversary season started with a bang.
- Please take note - The Welsh Society is sponsoring a concert by Robin Huw Bowen, the leading Welsh Triple harpist in the world. The concert will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 8:00PM in the All Nations Reform Church on the corner of Robie & Charles Streets, Halifax. For tickets please call Pam Davis (835-0718) before Sept 1st.
As for the Fall Show, at the time of this writing things are still somewhat undecided as we try to assemble the key members of the production team. A final decision will be made by the end of this month and all details will be announced at the first meeting.
That's all folks,
Esther
