August 7th, 2005 - Executive Meeting of the Square & Round Dance Federation of Nova Scotia held in Tusket, Nova Scotia after the Yarmouth Festival 2005.

Motion (seconded): That SRDFNS prepare a draft letter of intent for hosting 2010 at Halifax and submit it at the October Federation AGM. The Federation as a whole and all of Nova Scotia must approve this proposal.
Discussion: A survey form is to be sent to all clubs with the end of August federation mailing. We need data on dancer interest before making a decision on undertaking this proposal.

Motion carried.

Motion (seconded): Wayne and Dianne Burns to be Chair Couple for the Festival 2010 undertaking.

Motion carried unanimously.

October 15th, 2005 - Square and Round Dance Federation of Nova Scotia AGM at South Woodside Community Centre, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Motion (seconded): That SRDFNS submit a bid to the National Society to host a convention in 2010 in Halifax.
Discussion: Survey results to date were discussed and reported to be positive.
   A preliminary budget was discussed showing financial feasibility.
   Finding a way to provide sufficient hard surface flooring had been investigated and tentative solutions had been found.

Motion unanimously approved.

October 20th, 2005 - Ralph MacDonald, Nova Scotia's Representative to the National Society, e-mailed notification of our intent to submt a bid to Norman & Loretta Demeule.

Subsequent e-mails established that no other province wished to bid for 2010 and our bid was fast-tracked to be considered at the CSRDS AGM in Charlottetown, PEI.

November 12th, 2005 - Bid presented by Wayne & Dianne Burns and Dottie Welch to the Canadian Square & Round Dance Society AGM in Charlottetown, PEI held in conjunction with the 36th Maritime Square & Round Dance Convention. The Bid was officially accepted and approved by the Society.
