Dice Hill Logo         The Dice Hill Squares club was formed in May 2004 after 7 new couples completed half of their Mainstream program. Caller Bruce Savage taught the dancers how to enjoy the basics of square dancing and how to have fun.
The name of the club was selected from several choices refering to the local geography. The Ardoise Hall is located on a hill refered to as Dice Hill. Legend has it that when British soldiers were posted at the foot of the hill to guard the only road from the town of Bedford to the town of Windsor in early colonial times; they occupied their time by playing dice. The club logo shows a pair of dancers on top of a hill with a pair of dice.
The Dice Hill Squares have decided to hold a special dance at the end of the dance season in May. This is called the Mulberry Dance since the mulberry trees are usually in full bloom at the end of May. The club colour is a very dark red or maroon as close as possible to the purple mulberries.
The club hopes to recruit new dancers and former dancers to join them in the fun and friendship they enjoy through square dancing.
