In The Pink
Dancers was founded in1990 to provide an opportunity for members of the Fun Time
Rounds dance club to advance to a higher level in the round dance world.
The name, proposed
by member Nancy Norris, was intended to be suggestive of a happy and healthy group and at the
same time reflect the name of the leaders John and Valerie Pinks. Since its inception the club
has met from 8-10 pm on Friday evenings at the Rockingham Community Centre on a year
round basis. Teaching duties are still provided by John and Valerie Pinks with substitutes Larry
and Margie Clark filling in when they are away. An early session from 7-8 pm provides
teaching for new members who wish to move up to the club's phase 3-5 dance level. In addition
a small group meet from 1-3 pm on some Sundays to learn popular phase 5 and 6 dances. A
special dance "The Parade of Rounds" which takes place in April or May of each year is co-
sponsored by Fun Time Rounds and In the Pink Dancers.
