All:
Toured Hartlen Pt. this a.m -- the full circle around Back Cove and golf course.
There seems a great decline in diversity, but some things of possible interest
were:
100's of robins (truly - maybe 500++) gorging on the superabundant rowan
berries
ca. 25 Cedar Waxwings
4 "Myrtle" Warblers and none other
A few Song Sparrows in Back Cove, but at least 25 behind the
harbourside beach, along with about 8 Savannah, 2 Ipswich, and 2 Swamp
sparrows.
All in all, a late-fall assemblage, without any strays.
One golf course pond held a dozen G-w Teal and 2 Killdeer.
At The Eastern Passage parking-lot mudflats, what I believe was a
first-winter Lesser Black-backed Gull was among the regular gulls, 2 B-b
Plover, 7 White-rumped S, 4 Semipalmated Plover, and 2 Sanderlings .
Cheers, Ian McLaren
