Thurs Dec 14 /06
I went to Grand Pre this afternoon after hearing about Blake Maybank's
sighting earlier today of a Gyrfalcon on Grand Pre but did not re-locate it.
However, I did not attempt to traverse the farm roads (lots of mud), keeping
to paved roads.
Raptors I did find were: a Rough-legged Hawk, 1 imm. Peregrine, 4
Red-tailed Hawks, and quite a few Bald Eagles (mostly adults) circling over
or in the fields on both east and west sides of Grand Pre.
This morning at the New Minas Sewage Ponds:
Glaucous Gull in 1st winter plumage, several Ring-billed Gulls, one Grn-w.
Teal, and one Blue-w. Teal, plus ~dozen Mallards. Very quiet in there.
Cheers
