Hi Eleanor, all others:
Yes, the government announcement was slightly confusing, even
redundant, as the planned purchase of the two Mahone Bay islands was
already announced by the provincial government.
The St. Margaret's Bay Stewardship Association
http://www.heartofthebay.ca/ needs a lot more help with its fundraising
campaign for "Micou's Island." But the Mahone Islands Conservation
Association's pledge campaign has been oversubscribed and only 21 % of
the pledged amount is necessary to complete the planned purchase of
Coveys and Bachmans islands. Any extra collected funds will go towards
future land purchases.
This is a golden opportunity for NatureNS folks to step up to the
plate and support the SMBSA campaign....
