Hi Heather & All, June 23, 2007
Is this a definite Peregrine or might it have been a Goshawk ?
About 20 years ago my wife was attacked by (as I recall) a Goshawk
in a series of very impressive maneuvers. This was in mostly deciduous
woodland, a lot of kak-kak-kaking and reminiscent of the cropduster
scene in North by Northwest, i.e. climb up, turn sharply, dive, fly
straight at the target (wife's head) at eye level and bank away a last
instant.
This continued while we walked about 50-100 paces along the woods
road. I was a few feet away all the time but it consistently picked on
Alison.
