I am seeing birds these days I have problems identifying - first, at the =
Marsh at Sandhills there is a large marsh hawk - Northern Harrier - it =
flies like one and looks like one except that it has no white on its =
back near the tail - and the bird is black or gray throughout. apart =
from that it flies and looks like a harrier. =
Again, I have saw two flocks of ducks =
- about a hundred in each flock - that look like some kind of immature =
birds - dark backs and lighter breasts. The trouble is that nothing =
looks like an adult bird. I thought maybe they were immature scaup. =
(often called bluebills.) Two terns were with the =
second flock - kind unknown. They were in the pond once used to flood =
the cranberries - you are unlikely to find it unless you know where it =
is.=20
Six flicker scattered around the picnic area of Sandhills - there =
seemed to be a flock in the area.
A number of marsh sparrows.
Roland.
