Martin Thomas lives in the subdivision Canard Acres, south of the Canard
River, and east of Highway 358 to Canning, n. of Port Williams.
Martin, I too have a lot of birds going after cracked corn, which I put out
in a pheasant feeder instead of whole-kernel corn. But I am also spreading
a lot of other stuff on the ground, like millet and mixed seed from
Shur-Gain, and I have a variety of hanging feeders.
Cheers from Jim in Wolfville

Dear Jim:
We are having record numbers of birds at our feeders probably due to the
cold , windy weather. 2 days ago we had 22 Pheasants huddled by our back
door under the porch. Everyday we have 50+ Mourning Doves and about the same
number of Dark-eyed Juncos and about 15 Blue Jays. There are smaller numbers
of Sparrows, Song , Chipping (Clay Coloured?), White-throated,
White-crowned, House, American Tree, a few Redpolls, Black-capped
Chickadees, Downy Woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, Yellow-shafted Flickers. I
got cracked corn for the pheasants but everything seems to be eating it this
weather. Martin
