On the day of the Halifax-Dartmouth CBC (16 Dec), I flushed up a =
Short-eared Owl while walking through a small copse of trees in the =
grasslands of Rainbow Haven PP. Don MacNeill and company reported =
seeing the bird a few days later but I've heard no more recent reports.

Hi all
There have been quite a few Short-eared Owl observations the last =
few days. Charlie Kendell photographed one at Melmerby Beach PP on Jan.5 =
& 6. Ethan Huner and Shanon Queen had one Jan. 6 at Martinique Beach =
and we had one today at Sober I. This adds to Gary Murrays sighing in =
Prospect yesterday. Are these birds arriving all of a sudden?=20
cheers
Ken
