I too observed it from my NW facing deck, in a mostly clear sky. It
made me realize that the Sun really is heading back north. I hadn't
expected evening twilight to be so bright after 6 p.m. I could just
barely make out the two "Pointer" stars in the Big Dipper but had no
difficult following the "lone bright star" whose magnitude maxed
close to -4. From my location the Space Station passed practically
right over the upper Pointer star, Dubhe, (just a "hair" above it) at
about 6:19. I first noticed the pass at 6:17 and followed it to the
treetops, when it dropped from view (6:20:10). I wonder if any of
the 10 people onboard were preparing to see a sunset over Atlantic
Canada from their perspective? If the link works, the dotted line
in the map graphic represents when their sunset began.
