I had a pine siskin at my cottage last week that had ruffled plumage and was
just sitting on my deck allowing me to walk up to it and pick it up,I was
wearing a glove for protection. It seems every year I get at least one sick
bird and it is usually a siskin...no puffy eyes though, just the ruffed
plumage and laboured breathing.
