Hi all:
=20
I received the following report yesterday and the lady lives at Fauxburg. =
Any comments are appreciated. I've emailed the lady to let me know if the=
bird is seen again so that I can get over to check it out.

I couldn't believe my eyes. Today=2C Saturday the 25th of October=2C I was =
visiting my neighbour and we both spotted a hummingbird at a potted pink ge=
ranium on her deck. It checked out every little flowerette and then went on=
to other potted plants also on the deck=2C but most had wilted from the co=
ld. Subsequently it came back to that same pink geranium and we really had =
a good look at it. We were inside looking out of the window. Very early thi=
s morning we had a low temp. of -5 or -6 on my thermometer. How could it su=
rvive?? I thought to myself. The cold and not many flowers left. Because th=
is bird was seen in a shaded area=2C we could not see any colours or markin=
gs. It just looked dark in colour. Could this still be a ruby throated or w=
ould it be something else? I only know that it was definately a humming bir=
d. We saw this in Fauxburg. I'm sure this is the latest sighting for me.

I had a wonderful bird outing with 13 girl guides yesterday at Millers Poin=
t Park. One of the sharp-eyed girls picked out an osprey with a fish. Tha=
t was one of the last birds I expected to see on October 25 or on the outin=
g with them.

Today=2C not very exciting probably=2C but I had three yellow-rumped warble=
rs at Conrad's Island Lower Rose Bay. Greater yellowlegs still remained as=
did some black-bellied plovers. Some black-bellied plovers were also at O=
xner's Beach.
