I wandered down to the North Grand Pre before sunrise this morning in =
hopes of seeing the SNOWY OWL that's been spotted in the area off and =
on. So often you put yourself in the right place and nothing happens, =
but this morning I was rewarded. I found the owl huddled in the lee of a =
dyke. I hunkered down in the lee myself a little further up the dyke and =
we watched each other for a good half an hour. With each minute that =
passed the slight increase in daylight revealed more detail in the bird. =
After a while it shook out its wings and took off, flying east. As I =
stood and turned back into the wind again I was treated to a break in =
the cloud that permitted an astonishing view of a huge full moon =
setting. Ha!
