a poem
             awake i a am its 12.10 another christmas day is here
              the wind is lashing the side of the house winter is surley here
              as i type my thoughts run wild,what is life all about
              is there someone out there who is being left out
               its raining hard now  upon  the side of the house
               a lovely sound to hear
               so much peace and quiet this time of night
                the world just seemed to have stoped for a while
                do we have enough to to get by with
                 most of us surley do
                 but  if you dont please let us know because our thoughts are
                   are all about you
                 daylight is on its way     
                 so think and enjoy your christmas day

  All,

  After my day-and-a-half stay in Newark, I managed to get on a quick flight to Ottawa, and subsequently took a BUS to Moncton, ending my travel time at about 66 hours from San Francisco. Not being very fit to drive, I peered over the marshes from the passenger side and spied a Snowy Owl perched rather conspicuously on top of a dyke. This was probably 100 m south of the eastbound lane of the 104, and about 1 km or less west of Exit 3 to Amherst (Victoria St). The bird appeared to be fairly heavily barred, so perhaps was a juvenile female. I hope I am correct in calling everything near the 104 around the NS-NB border the Tantramar Marsh.
