I was down shortly after 7 this morning and the Black Scoters were uncharacteristically there in two groups separated by about 1/4 mile. The group of 100 or so, which were nearer the French Cross took flight and headed west out of sight. The other flock of 150 or so stayed about 1/2 mile west of the French Cross. I will be checking them on count day.
