We've been having visits from a pair of Rose-br. Grosbeaks the past few
days, but today while visiting on the deck with visiting family from
Saskatchewan, we heard a new rich, loud song. We spotted the singer
after awhile high up in the Ash Trees behind the house - it was a
1st-summer male Blue Grosbeak. First time we've seen one in our yard,
though other people have seen them here. Head was blue, but back was
brown, so I guess it's a first year bird, though it seems early.
