About 1/2 hour ago, I heard a racket outside and on checking, I had a yard
full of tree swallows! Easily a dozen, likely more. They were all interested
in the house up by the barn. Maybe renesters??
The house in the front yard has been busy the past week or so with feeding
activity I think. Both birds flying out at separate times and returning
momentarily and switching off to go again. Lots of attention from the
grackles and starlings but so far I think no one has gotten inside. I
wouldn't mess with those swallows. They are VERY protective of their home.
