Subject: [NatureNS] Atlassing in the Rain + Weird Blue Jay Noises +UFOs
Hello everyone:
With the atlassing season starting to wind down=2C I thought that I would t=
ackle a square (20LQ66 Lake Paul) that only had seven species in it to date=
. As you likely know there was a fair bit of drizzle and light rain that go=
t progressively worse. Despite that I was able to find 36 species with 17 p=
ossible=2C 10 probable=2C and 9 confirmed in 5.5 hours. I finally decided t=
o stop at 1:45 Pm when the rain got to the point where even the song sparro=
ws were quiet!
I'm hoping that with a bit of help I can do a bit better. I was walking on =
one road and saw four blue jays fly from one side to the other=2C in pairs.=
No sooner had they gotten across when I heard the strangest noises coming =
from the trees they had gone into. Between the leaves and the lighting I co=
uld not see them all that well=2C but two of them were following behind the=
first pair making loud squeaking noises. Would they be fledged young still=
with the parents=2C or just blue jays making yet one more new sound I have=
not hear yet?
UFOs or Unidentified Fledged Objects. I had two of them=2C one of which I w=
as able to photograph..Hopefully someone will have a better idea of what it=
is that I do.

The second UFO was not as cooperative as it stayed inside the branches. It =
was a warbler=2C mostly brownish and gray=2C light on the breast but it had=
a yellow patch on each flank and the underside of the tail was also yellow=
. What was really unusually about it was that whenever it perched it contin=
uously flipped its tail up and down. That may not be much to go on=2C but I=
thought I would include a description just in case.
Pat
