I received an email complete with photos of a juvenile northern shrike=2C w=
hich was at Rhodes Corner.  Dorothy Poole and I missed this bird by about a=
n hour and a half today. =20

We found some good birds though in our travels.  At First South=2C there we=
re 174 Canada Geese and 13 lesser scaup were nice.  We saw our first three =
common goldeneyes for the winter season=2C two males and a female.  These t=
hree were accompanied by a male Barrow's goldeneye.  A lone male ring-necke=
d duck was traveling with the scaup. =20

At Kingsburg Beach there were two northern pintails a male and a female.  T=
here were the most gulls I've seen there with 60 Bonaparte gulls=2C two bla=
ck-headed gulls were all I saw=2C five Iceland gulls=2C two glaucous gulls=
=2C 310 herring gulls and 23 greater black-backed gulls. =20

I had a great blue heron at First South today and there are still quite a f=
ew about according to reports I'm getting. =20
