Today on my field trip we located a male scarlet tanager singing behind the=
 St. James Anglican Church in Conquerall Bank.

=20

I also found a hermit thrush nest with three young and a boreal chickadee n=
est where the chickadee was clearly seen sitting inside the hole of a tree =
after we watched it fly in. =20

=20

A good day with blackburnian warblers in three separate locations. Least f=
lycatchers seem to have moved in with goodly numbers and alder flycatchers =
were heard at two locations.

=20

My friend David Walmark had a brown thrasher today=2C which was singing on =
the wires near his house. The bird seems to have moved on=2C but David wil=
l keep me posted. The whimbrel that David has been seeing off and on at Ox=
ner's Beach and Kingsburg Beach was not around today either.

=20

The yellow-crowned night heron at Stonehurst has moved on. No signs of it =
today. =20
