Hello Marg=2C

Your two forms could be the dull ones that have survived overwinter and =
brightly coloured newly hatched ones=2C although=2C as Chris pointed out=2C=
they would be the same size. If you have seen smaller ones that looked si=
milar but you didn't get a good look at them=2C Milbert's Tortoiseshell is =
a possibility. I saw one of those at Torbrook Mines on Sunday (May 23)=2C =
along with a Black Swallowtail=2C rare here in my experience (sorry atlasse=
rs=2C no specimen or photo of either).
Cheers=2C

We usually have a number of Mourning cloaks here. Big ones and smaller. I t=
hought maybe just different stages of development. There were a number out =
and about the other day. There are times when the apples from the tree furt=
hest from the house (early transparents=2C I am told) are rotting there are=
at least 100 or more. They are everywhere. They light on me when I am out =
and about=3B drunk as lords are they. Some stay the winter.
