Sort of on the same broad subject, check out the current issue, July/
August 2010, with the cerulean warbler on the cover, for at least two
interesting articles on shorebirds: one on the three species of
phalaropes ("ID Yourself: Cool Spinning Phalaropes" by Alvaro
Jaramillo), and the other about differences between the legendary
Eskimo curlew and the whimbrel ("Chasing a Ghost" by John Rakestraw).
