Kwe Msit Wen:

Nick and I headed out this morning to see the Brown Pelican on the Salt Marsh
Trail. No luck. Ran into Blake Maybank who did get a picture but the fog was
heavy and you really could not see anything.

We saw a Kingfisher, Bonaparte's gull, peeps, a number of Great Blue Herons but
no Pelican. Later on we ran into Hans Toom who we chatted for a bit. Then a
couple came by and mentioned that the Brown Pelican was just sitting on the
trail and flew to the left as they went by. It was standing with a "Crane"
which I determined was probably a Great Blue Heron. Of course, Hans, Nick and I
moved to try and see it but alas it hid itself in the fog.

Is that always the case with Birding and Bird photography-"It was just
there!...You just missed it!...You should have been here yesterday!....That
other place is better!"

By the way there were about 20-25 Black-bellied Plovers standing at the rocks on
the left as you get to the first bridge by the restrooms.
