We had intended to golf this am at 0800. However, one of our party did =
not like the rain showers so I decided to go for a walk at the ponds to =
get my exercise.=20

A young cock pheasant was at his spot near the corner and a 100 yards =
further a big healthy doe was on the road. This is the first time I've =
seen one in this area.=20

Two doz. plus Swallows were hawking over the first couple of ponds. No =
idea what kind. Some ducks inc. Mallards, Blacks and teal throughout.=20

  Scads of sparrow sized birds.=20

The Guzzle is good for Short eared Owls. All along the dyke wall to =
the East is a potential. Another spot for those owls is to go to the =
parking spot at the Canard Abiteau. Leave your car and walk the dyke. =
It is a nice walk to the end, perhaps 20-25 minutes. The owls will be on =
the outside of the dyke near the end. Merrill Prime walks the first part =
of the dyke with his dogs twice a day so the owls moved out to the last =
part.

I've not been able to walk it for the last 2 years but Merrill says he =
thinks they are still there. =20

I hope you find the Skimmer. Maybe Harold will invite us sometime.

  Al

An attempt to find the skimmer yesterday afternoon came up empty =
handed....but in a flock of 400+/- semipalmated sandpipers, there were =
two white-rumped, two ruddy turnstones, and one sanderling. The =
peregrine made an appearance, also a northern harrier.
