We had a visit from a hummingbird yesterday (14 Sept), after thinking
all were gone since the last one of our regular visitors left on the 12th.

Two days ago we picked up four more monarch caterpillars from the
milkweed in our field and brought them inside to finish their
development. Two have already pupated. The other two were smaller and
have a couple of instars to go. All of the ones we were raising during
the summer had emerged from their chrysalises over a week ago (total
Monarchs raised that we know of = 30).
