I guessed a total of 1000 to 1500 peeps today -- no identifications today, except that semipalmated plovers were among them. And there were 2 small peregrine falcons (males) flying together and drifting west (ages unknown) -- one of these made some short, unsuccessful passes at flying flocks of peeps, and the flushing of the eastern peeps was doubtlessly related to the presence of the falcons. Initially on my walk flocks of peeps were mostly moving from east to west, but this was reversed at about 2 hrs. after high tide, thus making total numbers hard to guess, as usual.
