OCT. 14, 2010 - First? FROST of the Autumn where we live in Wolfville
overnight, noted on car windows in morning.

A male/female pair of wood ducks was on "Gesner's Pond", n. of
Belcher St. along Middle Dyke Rd..

OCT. 17, 2010 - Brenda & Bill Thexton, and Pat and I, saw 80 Canada
geese and 2 juv. double-crested cormorants at Silver Lake in Lakeville.

OCT. 18, 2010 - A neighbor in Wolfville has a small English Oak that
is loaded with ripe big acorns, and oodles of them have popped out of
their "collars" and were lying on the paved road-edge.

Up to 7 blue jays continue to gang up at our feeders essentially all
day, off and on, mostly on, making it very difficult for other
species to feed, until the end of the day when very little remains at
the feeding station. I probably need to get home more often and only
put out a little food at a time.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville
