Hi All Despite all the wind the Codling's place was a hotbed of activity, mostly common birds but the Dickcissel posed nicely for me and I saw all three of the accipters, 1 adult Sharp-shinned, 1 immature Sharp-shinned, and finally after many many tries I chance to see their immature Coopers Hawk. On Kaye Street in Sackville I saw another pair of Northern Cardinals and a Chipping Sparrow.

In Spryfield after 3 ½ hours of combing the bushes I finally spotted the Bell's Vireo. It was feeding very low in the blackberries behind the Calgary United Baptist Church which is directly across the street from the Thornhill entrance to the green space where it was first seen and seen again today. Also feeding in the same spot with or near the Bell's was an Indigo Bunting and 5 Song Sparrows. Other birds I observed in the Thornhill green space today included a Gray Catbird and an American Kestrel. Also Fulton had a pair of House Finches there two days ago and he mentioned that someone saw a couple of orioles there today. It a great location with lots of food, cover, and nooks and crannies for the birds to hide in. Well worth a visit. - Cheers, Clarence
