It is categorized as noxious. I wrote:

My mistake; this is the Nova Scotia Weed Control Act. Here is the
statute:

http://nslegislature.ca/legc/statutes/weedctrl.htm

The statute says:

(f)	"noxious weed" means a plant that is designated under this Act as
a noxious weed;

Helpful, eh? ;->

The statute doesn't get revised; designation under it does. How often?
No idea. You'd have to write the Department of Agriculture which
administers the act.

Roland and Smith (1969) say that T. radicans (then in the genus Rhus)
is restricted mainly to southwestern counties and maps T. rydbergii
(then considered a variety of T. radicans) as occurring all over the
province from Yarmouth to northern Cape Breton.

Roland (revised by Zinck) (1998) says T. radicans is "common in
southwestern parts of the province with fewer locations in the east"
and says T. rydbergii is "scattered throughout the province."

Roland (1998) makes no mention of an increase in the distribution of
either species so one could infer that at least over that 30 year
period there has been no significant change in its distribution in the
province.

Cheers!

Chris
