I walked the coastal trail at Crystal Crescent Beach PP to Bald Rock and back this morning. There was a lot of activity around the fallen and standing trees just before Mackerel Cove, including an Orange-crowned Warbler and several Yellow-rumped Warblers. At Bald Rock Head I spotted my first Harlequin Duck of the year riding the surf.

On my return I met a Semipalmated Plover at Mackerel Cove's beach. The population of Boreal Chickadees has exploded in recent years, or so it seems. In many areas out my way they outnumber Black-capped Chickadees.

It was a gorgeous morning to be out and about!
