Thanks, Joan.  I found photos of erigeron annuus on the website that look
just like my fleabane, but Peterson says the leaves are strongly toothed,
and mine aren't.  It must be that though.

Hi Jane , There are good illustrations of various Fleabane species to be
found using Google. I suspect yours may be a seaside variety? Try the
