About 4:50 P.M. yesterday afternoon, a great blue heron flew across my path
and landed on the bank of the Salt Pond, near the dike on  the western side
of Yarmouth Harbour.  Distance from the car to the bird was about 200 feet,
weather was patchily cloudy, and visibility, while not ideal, was sufficient
to make an ID.

 

Isn't it getting a little late for these birds?
