Hi Blake

Just a note to fill in some of the holes in the winter list.

Black Scoter (Butter Bill) off the Marina on the sea side=20
Broad-winged Hawk seen on sat. Dec.4th in Monastery near/over the power =
transition lines
Merlin 1 almost daily at my place last seen this morning
Ruby-crowned Kinglet still 2 at R. O'leary's yesterday Dec 5th along =
with 2 Pine Warb.
Cedar Waxwing at R. O'leary's yesterday Dec 5th
Orange-crowned Warbler Stan Fest Grounds Dec 5th
Clay-colored Sparrow at Canso Marina in the knot weed 2 weeks - Dec 5th
Dickcissel 2 guess where

That will add 8 more of the "easy" ticks to the list. I'm disappointed =
that there's not a better list of flycatchers. Dam the early winter =
blast that stifled the sightings.

Subject: [NatureNS] Winter List Update - early Monday morning, 6 Dec

  6 December, 0930

  Hello Everyone;

There have been many more updates sent to me, or posted on NatureNS. =
I apologise if I missed a couple (as I did with Lois Codling's report of =
Bohemian Waxwing). =20

I had hoped to have the results from the Metro Hot Spots bird outing =
yesterday, but they have not yet been posted. In the meantime, here =
are the new additions to the list:

Lois Codling [Sackville] - Bohemian Waxwing (reported earlier, but I =
forgot to add it).

Bill Bussey [Marconi Picnic Area] - Wilson's Snipe

Richard Stern [Wolfville] Common Yellowthroat, Bohemian Waxwing

Murray Newell [Yarmouth] - Turkey Vulture, Northern Goshawk, House =
Finch

Eric Mills & Ian McLaren [Brier Island] - Blue-grey Gnatcatcher, Rusty =
Blackbird, Eastern Phoebe, Turkey Vulture, Peregrine Falcon.

Ken McKenna [Pictou] - Bohemian Waxwing

Anita Pouliot [Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sackville] - Gray Catbird

Kier Gigeroff [n.w. of Seal Island] - Common Murre, jeager sp.

Johnny Nickerson [Cape Sable Island] - Brant

Kathleen Spicer [Macaan] - Bohemian Waxwing

Mark Brennan and Fred MacKenzie [Abrahams L., HRM] - Black-backed =
Woodpecker

This brings our list to 132. =20

Please forward me any additions, corrections, or clarifications.

  Good winter birding,

  Blake
