The following are some observations, but not all for the day.

Location: Crescent Beach
Observation date: 12/5/10
Number of species: 4

Bufflehead 38
Ruffed Grouse 1
Horned Grebe 1
Golden-crowned Kinglet 1

The ruffed grouse flew from the side of the road into the side of my car. It bounced off and flew across the road apparently
unharmed. An interesting way to get my Lunenburg Co. ruffed grouse for the winter list.

Location: Thomas Radall/Sand Bay/East Port L'Hebert
Observation date: 12/5/10
Number of species: 9

White-winged Scoter 2
Red-breasted Merganser 9
Ruffed Grouse 2
Common Loon 3
Double-crested Cormorant 1
Herring Gull 314
Great Black-backed Gull 2
Blue Jay 1
Golden-crowned Kinglet 3

We heard a scold call which again sounded like a winter wren. We did not get to see the bird.

Location: White Point Beach/Summerville
Observation date: 12/5/10
Number of species: 8

American Black Duck 7
Herring Gull 1
Northern Flicker 1
American Crow 3
European Starling 10
Yellow-rumped Warbler 31
American Tree Sparrow 1
Song Sparrow 11

We had another small warbler that was a real sculker. It kept flying up and down, and only gave a brief look
It was out at the very end of the bayberry bushes as far out on the point of Summerville Beach that you can go.
This warbler had a gray head and a bright orange body. It could be a Nashville, or just an orange-crown. Unknown at
the present.
