Spent a little time at Sullivan's Pond this afternoon. Some workers rowing a
boat out to the middle of the pond kept spooking the ducks, but I was still able
to locate a female Northern Pintail, one American Coot and at least one of the
young male Eurasian Wigeons (pictures of pintail and wigeon here) amongst the
usual black ducks and mallards. The little park across the road had three or
four House Sparrows, a couple of chickadees and several Song Sparrows singing
beautiful little whisper songs.

A quick stop for groceries at the Superstore at the Bedford Place Mall turned
out to be a great idea, because I found myself parked right next to a Pine
Warbler working the little spruce trees lining the entry road to the mall.
Pictures here. The bird let pedestrians get quite close and was very
cooperative.

There was also a male Hooded Merganser on Three Mile Lake, visible from the 102.

Also, on Wednesday there were three Ring-necked Ducks on Three Mile Lake as
well.
