Bernard Forsythe just called me to say that it took him three tries
to find the summer tanager in Canning -- this afternoon he found it
on the south side of the buildings east of Pharmasave, i.e. on the
riverbank side of Main St. He watched the tanager catch and eat a
large insect of some sort, after he first found it sunning itself in
a tree along the south side of buildings. Also he heard the tanager
give a three-note call, which Bernard says matches what the field
guides say for summer tanager.

Among the ducks in the river in Canning, Bernard says one of the male
wigeons is a Eurasion wigeon.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville
