Checked a few of the local coastal spots again this afternoon. Highlights
included:

Fairmont Rd

8 Bald Eagles at the edge of a field (that's a lot around here). Must have
been a carcass below.

Ogden's Pond

Pond is mostly frozen now - gannets were not present today.

1 Belted Kingfisher
2 Brown Creeper
1 Red-necked Grebe
2 Horned Grebe

Antigonish Landing:

Unusually high numbers of Mallard. Maybe more than 50 to the 80 or so
American Black Ducks.
1 Double-crested Cormorant
6 American Wigeon
6 Green-winged Teal
1 unidentified intermediate-sized dabbling duck (f. Blue-winged Teal?)
*1 male Gadwall*

Antigonish Sewage Treatment Plant:

15 Bufflehead
4 Greater Scaup
2 Green-winged Teal
7 Iceland Gull

Overall numbers of Black-headed Gull are lower than last week, when they
were plentiful at these last three sites.
