Hi Tuma
There were about 120 Horned Larks with about 200+ Snow Buntings on the dykelands in Truro on Dec. 29. While our CBC group was
counting these, a Short-eared Owl appeared out of nowhere flying. I don't think we put it up was it came from behind us. It was immediately
escorted high in the air by a flock of crows.
This was the largest flock of Horned Larks I have seen. Sorry Ian, I never thought to take photos although I had my camera on me.
cheers
Ken

  Kwe Msit Wen:

Today, Nick and I had the pleasure of the company of Paul Evans and we were out at Grand Pre (dykelands) looking for the Short-eared Owls. We did not see any but Horned Larks and Snow Buntings kept flying near us. Very windy and cold but we all hauled our photo gear out and we managed to get some very good shots of the Larks.

I have posted three images of the Horned Larks-now I am satisfied that I can count it as a Photo Lifer for me.

I guess I can stop teasing Ian and Blake about the Horned Larks now!
