I just received promotional material about a new guide to eastern birds, =
Crossley ID Guide, coming out in March by Princeton University Press, =
not that I need another field guide. It is a different approach than =
traditional guides with each species identified entirely by Crossley's =
photos but not just one, 12 to 20 put together in a composite scene - =
10,000 photos were used apparently. The guide is 544 pages, ISBN =
978-0-691-14778-9 if anyone wishes to look it up. There will be an =
interactive website but it isn't functional yet, www.crossleybirds.com, =
however, there are sample pages at =
http://www.crossleybirds.com/gallery/THE-I-D-GUIDE-coming-soon. I am not =
promoting this guide but just wanted to pass on the information in case =
anyone was interested.
