I saw<br>
2 Ravens <br>
2 doz or so crows<br>
1 pileated woodpecker<br>
3 deer<br>
1 coyote<br>
1 rabbit<br>
1 squirrel<br>
1 flock snow buntings<br>
Although we drove right through I was still surprized to see so few
crows and ravens. <br>

Trees sketch lines
of black on azure.
Ice, like varnish,
seals the canvas of the pond.
Life almost appears
