Certain times of the year we get a number of window strikes. I've had among
other things, hawks, slam into the big window with freshly caught prey still
struggling. They have always flown away eventually, complete with catch. I
wonder do they survive for long. About this time of year I draw a 4" grid
with a florescent yellow highlighter over an area of the window and it slows
down the strikes remarkably. I keep some curtains drawn permanently.
I never get over the shock of that bang!! only thing that sound can be,
unfortunately, and someday the 60 old glass will give way, I am sure.
